GONE FISHING.....
Well, it's June, going on July.
According to five element theory (from traditional Chinese medicine), the summer is a time in which the fire element comes into play. Swedish acupuncturist Stefan Karlsson at www.qi-elements.com states that the body and mind are closely related to the five elements.
The fire element controls the cardiovascular system which connects the heart and brain. This element "houses our spirit, our expression of and capacity for joyful emotions."
We are more able during the summer to connect our inner and outer worlds by having a clear mind (decluttered). With a clear mind, we can have a "happy, light and playful experience" of the world. In this state of joy, we have heightened awareness, imagination, enthusiasm, and communication. We can have a wonderful relationship with silence and with empty space as well.
Through the mind-body connection, the fire element helps us to understand, to see more clearly, and to "serve compassionately".
In the interest of regenerating over the summer, and continuing some of the serenity I found during my recent Outer Banks vacation,
I will say "See You in September".
